Inverness Airport is preparing for its busiest ever summer with 350 scheduled flights a week set to operate from the Highland capital’s air gateway from today (Monday 26^th March).

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, today announces the launch of the ‘Spirit of the Highlands’, a specially branded Q400 aircraft named in honour of the region.

Passenger numbers at airports in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland have increased by 7% in the past 11 months.

Transport Minister Tavish Scott today announced the appointment of Mr David F Sutherland, CBE as the new Chair of the Board of Highlands & Islands Airports Ltd (HIAL), in succession to Mr Sandy Matheson, who stepped down at the end of February after 6 very successful years with the company.
