HIAL has donated £100 to a team of three Benbecula men who are
raising money for MacMillan Cancer Relief by attempting to scale the UK’s
highest mountains in one day.
The gruelling Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the
highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours. John Craib,
Mike Townsend and Walter Smith will begin their task at 3am on June 29 and hope
to have it completed by 3am the next day.
They will travel by car between Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scaffel
Pike and hope to complete each mountain in less than 5 hours.
John Craib, a member of the Airport Fire Service at Benbecula
Airport, said: "HIAL is always keen to support staff in activities outside work
and we are grateful to the company for donating £100 towards our funds. We are
focused on completing the challenge and have had a number of good wishes from
HIAL staff members."
