HIAL has donated a set of strips to Stornoway Airport fire fighters’ football team.

The team, called Airport Football Club, will participate in the 7-a-side welfare league in the winter and then transfer to the 11-a-side league in the summer.

Although not in the same league as Abramovic’s financial backing at Chelsea Football Club, it is hoped that the new strips will spark the team into some winning form and ensure that they set the league alight.

Seonaid Clarke, Stornoway Airport Manager, said: "Playing football is an excellent way to keep fit and I am sure it will help strengthen further the camaraderie between the fire fighters at Stornoway. Everyone at HIAL wishes them good luck."
