Highland Airways is slashing the cost of air travel in the
North during December and January with free ticket promotions on its two newest
routes and half-price fares on all routes between Christmas and New Year.
Passengers will be seeing double on the airline’s
Glasgow-Benbecula and Glasgow-Inverness routes in December and January with a
free ticket for every ticket purchased.
And seats booked for travel between Christmas and the New Year
are half price on all routes with single fares of £29.50 for Inverness-Stornoway
and Stornoway-Benbecula; £39.50 for Inverness-Glasgow; £44.50 for
Inverness-Sumburgh and Benbecula-Glasgow; £49.50 for Stornoway-Glasgow. Airport
taxes are charged additionally.
The Inverness-based airline’s recently launched weekday
Inverness-Glasgow link offers excellent timings for business and leisure
travellers, departing Inverness at 0700 and returning in the evening at 2005 –
perfect for a day’s business or shopping.
Flights leave Benbecula for Glasgow twice a day on weekdays at
0925 and 1715 with inbound services from Glasgow Airport at 0810 and 1600.
Basil O’Fee, commercial manager with Highland Airways said:
"These offers are a major boost for air travellers both in the Highlands and
Islands and in Glasgow. The Inverness-Glasgow and Glasgow-Benbecula services
offer good timings for business passengers but we also expect people to take the
opportunity to visit friends and family or head for the shops over the festive
period.
"If this proves successful, we hope to offer further promotions
during 2004 on our routes as part of our progressive commercial strategy."
