HIAL is creating an additional 100 overspill car parking spaces at Inverness airport in time for the 2005 summer season.
The temporary parking, which is currently under construction, will alleviate pressure on the airport’s existing car parks and be used if both current car parks reach capacity.
The temporary car park is adjacent to the existing facilities and is scheduled to be ready by the end of March.
James Walton, HIAL’s Inverness Airport Manager, said: “The existing car parks at the airport are operated by Inverness Air Terminal Limited and although they have been expanded the passenger growth at the airport means there is sometimes a shortage of spaces.
“The temporary parking that we are creating will help to alleviate this pressure as we move into the peak season for air travel at Inverness. It should make things easier for passengers until more permanent parking is provided at the airport.”
