Human resources professionals from the airport industry will gather in the Highlands today (Wednesday 13 July) as guests of HIAL.
Members of the UK Airports Human Resources Group will meet at Inverness Airport to discuss staffing and employment issues in the industry. HIAL, which operates 10 airports in the region and employs 311 staff, is hosting the event which is held on a rolling basis across the UK.
Representatives from Heathrow, Belfast, City of Derry, Luton and Manchester airports will be amongst those attending the one-day meeting at HIAL’s head office.
The next meeting of the UK Airports Human Resources Group is due to take place at Cardiff International Airport in October.
Gordon McPhee, Human Resources Manager at HIAL, said: “This forum provides us with an opportunity to share best practice with our colleagues from across the UK airport industry.
“The airport industry is a significant employed in the UK and covers a huge range of disciplines, from administration and management through to airport fire services and air traffic control.
“Today’s event will allow us to discuss a number of staffing and employment topics including new legislation and practical examples of HR issues within the sector,” he said.
