Regional airline Eastern Airways’ inaugural flight from Inverness to Leeds Bradford takes place today, Monday 24th April, with the route set to attract both business and leisure travellers.
The six days a week service will be operated by a 29 seater Jetstream 41 aircraft with the one hour twenty minute flight departing Leeds Bradford at 10 15 and Inverness at 12 05.
Eastern Airways’ Scotland director, Graeme Ross, said: “Judging by the strong level of forward bookings, we are confident this route will prove popular with both the business and leisure traveller as both cities have excellent tourist attractions and a thriving business scene.
“The choice of onward destinations from both airports is growing all the time which increases connectivity options.”
James Walton, Inverness Airport manager said: "We're delighted to see Eastern's third route from Inverness taking off. This will open up a range of new travel possibilities for local residents and be good for inbound tourism and business travel. It will also contribute to the long term development of the airport as the major cross border gateway for the region."
