As part of service enhancements at the largest airport in the Highlands and Islands, wireless internet connectivity is now available in Inverness Airport terminal.
Travellers and terminal users can now log on to the internet in the terminal building via BT Openzone.
Portable computer users have the choice of buying vouchers from the airport information desk or logging on to the BT Openzone website www.btopenzone.com to register for the service where various pricing plans are available.
Highlands and Islands Airports hopes to roll the service out to more of its airports over the coming months.
Inverness is on target to handle around 800,000 passengers in 2006/07 and up to 40% of these will be travelling for business. Wireless internet connectivity will therefore be of particular benefit to business travellers and enable them to make best use of their time at the airport.
Inverness Airport manager James Walton said: “We are always looking for ways to improve the service we offer to passengers and terminal users at the airport. We expect that wireless internet connections will prove popular with the many people who need to stay in touch while on the move and especially members of the business community who use the airport on a regular basis.”
