HIAL and the Scottish Government are working to identify solutions to deliver additional terminal capacity at Inverness Airport to meet regulatory, operational and commercial needs.
Both the airport operator and its shareholder recognise that there are a range of short and medium term capacity issues at the airport.
Further work is underway by HIAL to identify whether a fit for purpose design response can be delivered on an agreed phasing and cost basis. The outcomes of this work will inform further discussions with the Scottish Government.
Inglis Lyon, managing director of HIAL said: “Regulatory, operational and commercial factors are the drivers for this project and are recognised by our funder, which is welcomed. We are therefore carrying out further work to hopefully reach a solution that will enable the airport to address these.”
