Benbecula Airport and the Local Community

Benbecula airport supports the local community by working closely with all the local schools and charities wherever possible. 

World Island Games 2011 

Most recently, Hector MacPhee who is a firefighter at Benbecula Airport, travelled to the Isle of Wight to compete in the World Island Games with his team, the Western Isles Football team who won the Bronze award at the 2007 competition in Rhodes.  This year, the Western Isles team took home two individual medals - a Gold and a Silver - and two team medals - both Bronze.  Below are some pictures of Hector and the team at the event.

Air Discount Scheme
The Scottish Government's Air Discount Scheme (ADS) provides a 40 per cent reduction on air fares between Scotland's remotest communities and cities. ADS applies to people whose main residence is any of the following:

• Western Isles
• Orkney
• Shetland
• Islay and Jura
• Caithness and North West Sutherland
