Property

Within the Highlands and Islands (HIAL) group of airports, we have a number of commercial property opportunities. For further information, please contact the relevant developers below, or email us at info@hial.co.uk.

Stornoway Airport
With 130,000 passengers annually and a local population of approximately 12,000, the offering at Stornoway Airport represents a significant development opportunity. The development sites are located close to the airport and occupy a key location 2.6 miles from Stornoway, which is the main town on the Isle of Lewis and home of the Western Isles Council. The local economy is a mix of traditional business like fishing, Harris Tweed and farming, with other influences including public sector, tourism, the oil industry and commerce.

As one of the principal ferry terminals of the Outer Hebrides, Stornoway offers links to the mainland by a roll-on-roll-off car ferry which includes the movement of many goods, services and labour requirements passing through the town, as well as many visitors requiring overnight accommodation.

With the local market context, Stornoway Airport represents an attractive location for the development of residential, hotel and licensed leisure/retail properties. The existing modern terminal building provides frequent convenient passenger travel in a modern environment, and the development of the adjacent land represents a unique opportunity to build around this hub of modern island life.

For more information on the residential site, the hotel and retail opportunities, please contact Matt Bellshaw at Colliers International, Glasgow on + 44 (0) 141 226 1000 or by email onmatt.belshaw@collierscre.co.uk.

Dundee Airport
Dundee Airport has seen a steady growth in its passenger numbers over the last twelve months. It is situated only five minutes drive from the centre of Dundee and is within easy access of the other main transport links. With over 67,000 passengers travelling through the modern terminal every year, and 600,000 residents within an hours’ drive of the airport, the potential market for new commercial ventures is vibrant. Dundee itself is a modern city set on the River Tay in one of Europe’s most impressive geographic locations. Known for its advances in medicine and development in electronic entertainment, the opportunities for new business development around the airport are good. The city has a revitalised city centre and retail scene, thriving arts and leisure facilities, is home to Dundee University and has a great conference organising centre to meet all business needs. So, to find out more about the commercial opportunities around Dundee airport, please contact us by email at info@hial.co.uk.
