Stornoway Airport Consultative Committee
The Outer Hebrides Airport Consultative Committee hold the majority of meetings in the local Council Offices in Stornoway where representatives from Comhairle Nan Eilean, Loganair, Eastern Airways, NHS, QinetiQ, Visit Scotland, the Hoteliers Association and HIAL are present and discuss matters related to Barra, Benbecula and Stornoway airports.
The Chairperson of the Committee is Barra Councillor Donald Manford. In line with current Council practice, there will be an increased use of video conferencing facilities and the last meeting which was held on Thursday 25th February 2010, was the first time that video conferencing was utilised.
At Committee meetings, there are updates from the airline operators and discussions with the airport operators on matters relating to Barra, Benbecula and Stornoway airports. An opportunity is given to all others present to raise any issues with the airlines or the airport operator. Matters discussed include airline punctuality, airline reliability, airline schedule amendments, passenger numbers and airport infrastructure projects ongoing and proposed.
The Committee is proactive in resolving any issues that may affect any members of the travelling public and the local communities in Barra, the Uists and Lewis and Harris.
