History of Tiree Airport
Tiree airport is located at the heart of the island Tiree. The first flight into Tiree took place in 1935 and the first scheduled flights to and from Renfrew began just a year later.

During World War II, the site was developed for use by the military and several RAF squadrons used it as their base. Civilian flights recommenced in 1947. These were operated by British European Airways until 1974 when the airline merged with BOAC to form British Airways Scottish.

Since 1975, Loganair have operated all scheduled flights from Tiree. The airport is owned and operated by Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd.
