FAQ

Ensuring our passenger’s safety is our utmost priority - below is a list of important considerations to keep in mind when travelling to/from the airport from Monday 18 April 2022:

Do I need to arrive at the airport earlier than normal to allow more time?

We always recommend that you allow plenty of time to ensure you can pass through the airport in time for your departure.  Please ensure that you check in online and download/print your boarding pass before arrival where possible.  

Will physical distancing still be required within the airport?

It will no longer be a legal requirement to adhere to physical distancing indoors, however we are continuing to advise visitors to the airport to keep a safe distance from others wherever possible to minimise any risk to passengers, visitors and our staff. 

Do I need to wear a face covering within the terminal?

It will no longer be a legal requirement to wear a face covering in indoor spaces. Please be considerate of those that may choose to continue to wear a face covering.

Am I allowed into the terminal building if I am not flying?

Yes, visitors, as well as passengers and airport staff are allowed in the terminal building.

Can I take hand sanitiser gel and anti-bacterial wipes through airport security in my hand luggage?

Yes, you can take hand sanitiser gel through airport security with your hand luggage, as long as the bottle size is under 100ml, and it is in a sealed, clear plastic bag with your other liquids.  Anti-bacterial wipes are not considered liquids and do not need to be put into your liquids bag.

If I require special assistance, will this still be available?

Yes, this service is still available.  Please try to book your assistance with your airline when making your travel booking so that our team know to expect you.   

We are still able to provide assistance if you have not booked and will try to assist you as quickly as we can.  When you arrive at the airport please go to the Information Desk who will contact a member of the special assistance team to assist you.

Will the Changing Places Restroom still be available to travellers?

Yes, you will still be able to access this facility by requesting a key from the Information Desk. 

Will the café and shop facilities be open?

Yes, Stag and Thistle and WH Smith are currently open in the terminal building and airside for all departing flights from Inverness Airport with a selection of food and beverages available. 

Drinking water is available before security and in the arrivals areas within the toilet facilities.  There is also a water fountain within the departure lounge.

Are the toilet and washroom facilities open in the terminal building?

Yes – the toilets are available for use throughout the terminal.  

Will I still be able to use the car park?   

Yes, you can still use our airport car parks and the option to book in advance is still available.  

Can I get a refund on pre-paid car parking if I do not travel?

Refunds are available for most bookings with the exception of the non-flexible option.  Please only book this option if you are confident you will be travelling.  If you would like to request a refund, please email InfoINV@hial.co.uk quoting your booking reference number.

Will bus services operate to the airport?

Yes, Stagecoach are still operating services to and from Inverness Airport.  Currently, this is on a reduced schedule so please visit their website before travelling.
