Collaboration brings improved training facilities at Dundee Airport

A programme of improvements to the Dundee Airport Fire Training Site have been completed following work on a project with Scotland Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS).

Over the past few months, the two organisations have worked together to introduce a warm water sink for decontamination of breathing apparatus, a protective canopy to shield staff in adverse weather, a designated fire-kit disrobe area and improvements to the changing spaces to reduce the risk of fire contaminant spread.

On 31 March 2026, representatives from HIAL and SFRS viewed the improved facilities which are used by both organisations to train their teams and ensure that everyone remains compliant with regulatory requirements.
