The first Aer Lingus flight between Inverness and Dublin is set to depart this afternoon, marking the return of the direct connection between the Highlands and Ireland’s capital.
Operated exclusively by Emerald Airlines, the service will run twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, providing improved connectivity for both business and leisure travellers alongside onward access to North America via Dublin.
Dan Mason, Inverness Airport Manager, said: “It is exciting to see the return of direct flights between Inverness and Dublin, restoring a route that has been missed by passengers across the Highlands and Islands.
This service not only reconnects the region with Ireland’s capital but it also provides onward access to North America via Aer Lingus transatlantic flights, including New York and Boston, with convenient connection times through Dublin.
Welcoming Aer Lingus to Inverness for the first time is a positive step for regional connectivity and passenger choice, and we are thrilled to work with the airline as the route launches and develops”
