Dr Andy Kerr, Director General Net Zero visited Stornoway Airport last week.
Dr Kerr was taken on a tour by Donald Macaulay, Interim Airport Operations & Fire Manager. This included time in the Air Traffic Control tower, where he spoke with Air Traffic Control Officer Mark MacIver. He also visited the Fire Station where he met with members of the Airport Fire Service.
He was then taken to view Broad Bay beach, which is located next to the airfield, where coastal erosion works were carried out in 2022- 2023 to protect the infrastructure and future operations of the airport.
