From Melvich to Miami

Melvich Primary School visit to Wick

Children from Melvich Primary School enjoyed a visit to Wick John O’Groats Airport recently to get a taste of what goes on behind the scenes.

The thirteen children from P1-4 have been focusing on the World Cup as part of their studies and used “passports” designed in the classroom to travel through the airport as if they were travelling to an overseas game.

On arrival they were met by the security team before going through departures to have a look around the aircraft which services the current Wick – Aberdeen PSO route.

They then had a chance to meet the Airport Fire Service, which was a very popular part of the visit. It included a chance to sit in the fire engine and test out the water hose with the team.
