HIAL appoints new Chief Operating Officer

HIAL is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Cobb as its new Chief Operating Officer. This is a new role to support the Managing Director with specific responsibilities for managing the day-to-day operational activities of the company as well as key projects including Air Traffic Management Strategy and other large scale capital projects.

Gary is a highly experienced, successful and well-regarded aviation professional. Most recently he was Head of Airfield Planning at Gatwick Airport where he was responsible for the airport’s innovative northern runway project. Previously, as Head of Airside he was responsible for the operation of Gatwick’s single runway – the busiest in the world, as well as having responsibility for teams coverings most airport disciplines including operations, engineering, technical, and the fire service.

Before joining the airport he worked in a variety of manufacturing leadership roles within Mars, Tarmac and Reckitt Benckiser. He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Warwick.
