Inverness Airport won big at this year’s Loo of the Year awards taking home three national awards for their facilities.
The Airport’s facilities were awarded Scottish Airport Loo of the Year, Scottish Commercial and Public Loo of the Year and their newly installed Changing Places Toilet was awarded Scottish Changing Places Toilet Loo of the Year.
Since opening in April, the Airport’s Changing Places Toilet helped the Airport retain it’s place as one of the elite group of 16 UK airports classified as Very Good by the Civil Aviation Authority for their high levels of service delivery to disabled and mobility restricted passengers and has now been recognised as the best Changing Places Toilet facility in Scotland winning the 2018 National Award for Loo of the Year.
In the Transport category at the awards, Inverness Airport was awarded Scottish Airport Loo of the year being named alongside Gatwick Airport as having some of the best toilet facilities in the nation.
The Airport was also recognised in the Offices category for its offering for staff, taking home Scottish Commercial and Public Loo of the Year.
Graeme Bell, general manager at Inverness Airport, said: “Our commitment to providing the best facilities possible to all who visit our airport being recognised acknowledges the hard work by all our staff to ensure our airports are as comfortable as possible.
“Working with local disability organisations and individuals we installed our Changing Places facility last year to help ensure the airport was as inclusive as possible to all visitors. Having it recognised as being the best facility of its kind in Scotland will give all involved in the project a real sense of satisfaction.”
Inverness Airport’s Changing Places facility has been located within the main terminal building in an area accessible to visitors flying in and out of Inverness Airport along with the public from the local community.
