Orkney Island Games 2025
Between 12 - 18 July, the Orkney Island Games will be taking place and our car park is likely to be busy in the days running up to and during the event. Where possible we advise that you consider alternative transport arrangements such as a local taxi or the local bus service, which will be a double decker during the games, to travel to and from Kirkwall Airport.
Please also be aware that there will be diversions in place on some roads around the island. You can find more information in the Locals Guide here
Parking at Kirkwall Airport
Short and long-term car parking, with disabled bays, are available adjacent to the airport terminal building. There is a day rate of £3 for parking, with a free two-hour drop-off period. Exemptions apply for NHS passengers, North Isles residents, Blue Badge Holders and for compassionate travel.
We do not have the capability at Kirkwall Airport to pre-book parking online. When you arrive back at the airport, please insert your ticket into the pay machine in the foyer where you can pay by cash, card or contactless.
