What to expect when taking cabin baggage
In line with UK regulatory requirements, your cabin bag will be screened by X-ray equipment. Your baggage may also be searched by hand and swabbed for the detection of explosives by one of our highly trained security operatives. Liquid containers within your clear plastic bag may be tested.
Your bag may be selected for one of two reasons:
- the X-ray operator believes a prohibited or restricted item is present; or
- random selection testing, which we are required to undertake to meet UK regulatory requirements
