If your vehicle has been previously registered for this exemption scheme, you do not need to register it again for the new car park system. If you experience any issues when parking, press the buzzer on the barrier to speak to a member of the team who can assist you.

NHS Patient Travel

NHS Passengers are also exempt from car parking charges. NHS Patient travel will request your car registration when making your travel arrangements and they will book your registration onto the car park system. When you arrive, simply drive up to the entry barrier of the main car park, and it will open. When leaving, drive up to one of the exit barriers and the barrier will open without charging. You will not be charged for the duration of the booking made by NHS Patient Travel but if your vehicle stays beyond this period, charges may apply.

More information is available on our Car Park FAQs

Drop off for passengers

A free drop off point is available for anyone dropping off passengers for flights. Please use the car park where you can park for up to two hours free if you wish to leave your vehicle to accompany passengers to the terminal.

How the Car Park system works

On entry to the car park, ANPR cameras will read the registration of the car and the barrier will raise.

Once payment has been made, you have 20 minutes to exit the car park by driving to the exit barrier. The ANPR camera will recognise your car registration and the barrier will automatically raise to allow you to exit the car park. Should you remain in the car park longer than 20 minutes, further charges will apply.
