Assistance and Accessibility

Sunflower Lanyards

We are aware that for some people with hidden disabilities travelling through the airport can be a stressful experience.  At Inverness Airport we have adopted the Sunflower lanyard scheme.  If you see any of our staff wearing a green sunflower badge or ribbon, then they have been trained to assist individuals with hidden disabilities. Please do not hesitate to ask them for support.

If you have additional needs or hidden disabilities and would like to wear a lanyard or ribbon please contact us by email at infoinv@hial.co.uk. You will then be contacted to discuss your requirements and how we may be able support you. It is possible to arrange a visit to the airport before you travel with our Special Assistance team who can show you the full airport journey and discuss how their service could assist you through the airport.

We are limited in the assistance we can provide in terms of medical treatment, equipment and intimate personal care, therefore we would request if you require this type of support that you travel with an escort.

To help you prepare for your visit to Inverness Airport, we have some guides on what to expect, that have been provided by AccessAble. You can view those guides on our website.
