Getting Around the City

With a great network of public transport, it couldn’t be easier for travellers to explore the city.

Bus

Managed by Network West Midlands, buses may be run by different operators in each area.

Many of the buses in service have low flooring for easy access. When purchasing a ticket onboard the bus you must use exact change only.

Visit West Midlands Bus for up-to-date timetables and ticket prices, to help you plan.

Train

Birmingham New Street Station is near the Bullring and Grand Central shopping centre. From here you can find connections to local towns and other major UK cities.

For more information about ticket costs and timetables, visit the Network Rail website.

Trams

The tram service is operated by Midland Metro.

The city tram line currently runs to Bull Street, Corporation Street, and New Street. It also calls at the Library of Birmingham on Broad Street.
