New Dundee City Council Chief Executive joins the Dundee Airport Board

Following his appointment as Chief Executive for Dundee City Council, Greg Colgan has taken up his role as Non-Executive Director on the Board of Dundee Airport Limited (DAL), replacing David Martin.

Dundee Airport is one of 11 airports operated by Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL).

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive of Dundee City Council, Greg held the post of Executive Director of Corporate Service from 2017, a post with a wide-ranging remit including the overall strategic and operational responsibility for Corporate Finance, Customer Services & IT, HR & Business Support, and Democratic & Legal Services.  Before 2017, Greg held a number of other positions within the Council such as Head of Customer Services & IT, Head of Corporate Debt & Welfare Reform and Finance & Corporate Services Manager (Housing).  Greg originally trained as an Accountant with a global manufacturing and engineering organisation.

Lorna Jack, Chair of the Board of Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) welcomed Greg to the Board.  She said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank David Martin for his valuable input to the DAL Board over the years and wish him a long and healthy retirement.

“I’m delighted to welcome Greg to our DAL Board – his vast experience covering a wide range of functions will add to that of our current Board members.  Greg’s insight as he guides Dundee through its recovery plan will tie in very well with our own Covid response and recovery plans.”

Commenting on his appointment, Greg Colgan said: “With Dundee Airport being so integral to the connectivity of the city, it’s great to be on the Board.  I am looking forward to working with my colleagues at HIAL to ensure that the airport continues to build on its success and to work with our airline partners to secure additional routes for the long-term.”
