The Scottish Government has confirmed that the Air Discount Scheme will be formally renewed from 1 April 2026 until at least 31 March 2027.
This continues to provide eligible travellers in the Highlands and Islands with a 50% discount on core air fares. The extension ensures that vital air links remain affordable for residents, students and communities who depend on these services for connectivity, access to education and maintaining family ties across the region.
Announcing the extension, Jim Fairlie said the scheme plays a crucial role in keeping rural and island communities connected and tackling the challenge of higher air fares in the Highlands and Islands.
